We have eight stop lights in the entire valley, which is about a twenty
minute drive.

Winter sports have always been popular in Big
Bear. This dog sled team is out on Baldwin Lake.

Clarkes Grade, the first road into Big Bear
crested Bear Mountain and came into the Valley through Millcreek
Road. It was composed
of a series of challenging hairpin turns.

Baldwin Lake was known as a duck hunter's paradise in the 1940's.

In 1934, Big Bear High School was in the top of Beard's Department
Store.

Knight's Camp was one of the first lodges in Big Bear. This pictures
of their "modern cabins" was taken in 1924.
